Keeping GMV residents informed

A joint venture between Countryside and L&Q, Greenwich Millennium Village (GMV) is a development described as one of the most exciting and innovative residential neighbourhoods in Europe.

The Problem

Comprising high-specification homes, plentiful green spaces and community facilities, as well as offering easy access to busy London areas, Greenwich Millennium Village is a real hub of activity. Countryside were keen to nurture the community and village feel in this bustling development. They approached us to create a community magazine to keep existing and prospective residents up to date and informed on the latest local news.

The Solution

We worked with the Countryside team to design concepts for a community magazine. Following its initial success and a continued warm reception over the last five years, Jacob Bailey manage the production of this quarterly publication end-to-end on an ongoing basis.

As part of a rebrand project for GMV, we recommended a positioning territory of ‘Village life in the city’, differentiating the scheme from its more urban competitors. This lent itself to our magazine title: Village Life. Its look and feel has been consistent throughout the last few years – providing residents with a familiar design as it lands on their doorstep. We also tie the magazine in with calendar hooks and seasonal events, which keeps the magazine content fresh, relevant and informative.

Each quarter, we are briefed on a content outline which can include anything from community events to development updates, as well as competitions for residents and promotional content for new homes. The magazine often features an interview with a partner organisation – from landscape gardeners to architects and mortgage brokers – and as part of our editorial role, we organise, transcribe and write up each one.

Working with a trusted network of production partners, we co-ordinate print production and fulfilment with close to 3,000 magazines distributed to residents and mailed to prospects. And of course, it's always rewarding to receive our own copy in the post!
