We’ve built an excellent team of like-minded developers who share our passion for technology. You’ll thrive as part of our team, offering your support for both senior and junior members of the team and will make a significant contribution to new build and enhancement-based projects. In return, we’ll offer our support to help you grow within your role, both personally and professionally.

We have shown resilience and versatility in the face of the pandemic, continuing to invest in our team and grow our proprietary destination-based marketing platform, DestinationCore. We’re now looking to hire an enthusiastic, conscientious and passionate front-end developer who wants to help contribute to our team's exciting vision for the future.

This role offers fully remote working, although, we’d love it if you could meet up on the odd occasion to do face-to-face brainstorming and meetings. In a world of remote working, we’re keen to get back on track with social meetups amongst the team when restrictions allow.

You’ll be naturally curious and adventurous within your role, keen to contribute towards refining and developing both our tech stack and team process. When coding, you don’t just ‘get the job done’, you think carefully about the impact of your work, aiming to achieve optimal performance, accessibility and scalability.

You’re happy to explore existing tooling and techniques or researching new ones, and as necessary, you’ll present your new ideas to the Senior Front-End Developer and Team Lead.

You’ll report directly to the Senior Digital Project Manager but work on a day-to-day basis in close collaboration with your fellow Developers, taking and seeking direction from the Senior Front-End Developer and Team Lead. Never getting complacent, you’re hungry to take on new challenges and learn new skills to contribute towards our continued growth and improvement vision.

  • You appreciate that a great front-end developer should master the foundations of the web. You’ll have a strong background writing HTML, CSS and Javascript.
  • You’re genuinely passionate about crafting great user experiences with a keen eye for detail and take pride in your work.
  • You’ve used SCSS/SASS or another similar CSS pre-processor.
  • You’re comfortable using jQuery. You’ll also have a grounding with or have a willingness to learn a Javascript-based UI framework such as Vue or React.
  • You’ve worked with or alongside PHP and MySQL and/or PHP-based templating frameworks such as Twig or Blade.
  • You’ve built websites and web-applications that use a content management system.
  • You use Git for version control and can work collaboratively with other developers on the same repository.
  • You’re comfortable using a terminal/CLI to run day-to-day commands such as Composer and npm and use task runner/compilers such as Gulp or Webpack.
  • You have commercial experience working as part of a wider team of developers incl. peer-reviewing, supporting team members and knowledge-sharing

  • You’ve built websites and web apps with Craft CMS (you’d get lots of kudos for having used our CMS of choice).
  • You’ve used virtual/local servers such as Homestead, Docker or MAMP. You may have also worked with server-level technology like Ubuntu and NGINX.
  • You’re comfortable using/coding in PHP, Laravel or Yii.
  • You’ve worked with AWS to manage the lifecycle of applications incl. CI/CD pipelines, hosting, storage and CDN’s.
  • You’re familiar with Invision for design to developer handover.
